Chanel Spring 2010: Chanel Particuliere Comparison Nail Swatches Part 2

January 10, 2010

Previously, I posted a few different comparisons to Chanel’s Spring 2010 Particuliere.  Over the past several days, I uncovered a few more taupe options.

First, Sally Hansen has recently released Commander in Chic, which is more grey and significantly thinner.  Commander took four coats compared to Particuliere’s one to two coats.   Commander in Chic is about $8, compared to $23 for Chanel’s.

Second, those who prefer a mauve wash in their taupes may prefer China Glaze’s Channelesque.

Here’s a very quick comparison swatch:

Ohhh, I love the China Glaze – Channelesque. It’s a beautiful shade of purpley-brown.
Ummm, Yesterday I was browsing through “The Next Best Thing to Going Shopping Yourself” bye Karla Sugar and she had a silver chrome sort of nail polish. I don’t know if that was the silver that you had in mind.. (it’s pretty bright compared to the bikes but still around the same shade). It doesn’t seem to have any glitter in it – something I’ve been searching for a long time. It’s called Silver Pearl by Dior.

Lovely suggestion! Thank you so much–I love Karla’s blog and that is a great suggestion! I love China Glaze polishes too…at least the one’s I’ve tried. Thanks again!

Great pics. I’m going to get Channelesque I think. It looks like it would be the most flattering on my pale skin. For the bicycle color I would suggest Chanel Kaleidoscope (but no longer available unfortunately) or BB Couture Blind Love. This is an almost perfect dupe for the Chanel, which is a kind of taupey or “dirty” silver.

How about Over the Taupe by OPI?
