Chanel’s Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Confidence (#55) is a nice, everyday neutral that one can carry in their bag with the assurance that the color is going to work with almost everything else you might wear.
A very work-friendly color, this is a shade that one can reapply before going out to a lunch or into a meeting, without concern that the color will come across as over-the-top. Like Chanel’s Rose Petale blush, this color will never look out of place. Truly, you can be confident in Confidence.
You can see the applicator again in the above picture. Although I initially reacted quite strongly against it, it is growing on me. Using it flat-side against the lip, the application is quite easy. Still, I wish it felt a bit sturdier. I like the overall dimension of the tube. There is something elegant about pulling out this rather large gloss in public. It’s so distinctively… Chanel.
Confidence seems to me to be a lighter, slightly sheerer and glossier version of Chanel’s Rouge Allure Laque in Ming–both are beautiful, medium pink neutrals:
Here is the swatch on bare lips without any base, lipstick or liner:
Are you still undecided about this line? If you don’t already own Ming, and are looking for a good, glossy shade, I recommend Confidence. Although it is not one of the more dramatic or exciting colors (I do love Fatale!), it’s quite versatile and likely a color that I’ll use up completely:

oooh I like this. I can see myself using a pink like this daily, although I used a red gloss yesterday influenced by your lovely daughter’s glossy red lips a few days ago. Now I am craving this pink color!
I’m loving these Extrait posts and dying to see Insouciance!
Your daughter is beautiful! Thank you for the great photos!
Hi SJ–thanks! I’m going from strong colors toward the nude–I should have Insouciance tomorrow, along with a wrap up of all of them!

Hey Amy, I just purchased Confidence and I couldn’t possibly love it more. I like how it feels damp, but not overly wet. I do feel this urge to polish the tube, though…
So sad to hear #55′s LE because I hate getting backups of products like lipglosses – well, at least I got ahold of an SA this time that didn’t attempt to convince me said shade doesn’t exist… when it was simply sold out at their store. Oh, some people…
I guess I’ll be looking into Ming once I empty this one. Ta!
I got both this and Emoi, and I have to say I like Emoi a lot more as I like a little colour on. Confidence is nice too, but better layered over a lipstick for me. Great reviews
