- There are three glosses that I decided against purchasing: Genie (#52) which is a medium peach shade; Emoi (#58) which is a raspberry red; and Impertinence (#59), a deep brown. These are shades that I don’t feel will work well with my coloring although you may find that they are ideal for yours.
Together with three new nail polish colors, the line will release with a series of new Rouge Allure lipstick shades, some of which mirror the names of the new Extrait de Gloss:
- Confidentielle
- Insolente
- Fatale
- Excessive
- Emotive
I suspect that the promotional image that we’ve seen is using a combination of the lipstick and gloss–it’s quite opaque here:
These glosses look really wonderful layered with a lipstick–for example, I layered Fatale with a MAC cool red lipstick in my stash and the effect was really stunning. Even if you do not get the Rouge Allure lipsticks, I encourage you to try the Extrait de Glosses with the lipsticks that you already own. The shine and slight sheerness adds a really beautiful depth.
Doesn’t this sound like a lovely time for a poll? How do you feel? Vote for as many choices as you wish (up to 9):

I’m so excited to see which colors you prefer!
Chanel has a website dedicated to the line at this link, together with some look sheets that can be created using Chanel makeup.

I loved this whole series, thanks Amy! Which are your favorites? I’m curious about the new Rouge Allures too–are you reviewing them as well?
Steph–I don’t have the new Rouge Allures yet, I wish I did! I bought these glosses at a Duty Free store as I was heading out of Charles de Gaulle airport. I only had a quick second to swatch a few of the new Rouge Allure lipsticks–some of them are quite beautiful. When they arrive in the U.S., I can’t wait to look at them again and choose them. Of these glosses, my favorites are Insolent and Fatale, with the nude coming in third. These are all different enough, plus I like the pigment level of all of them–not opaque but plenty of rich color. Thank you for your comment!!
I’m glad you liked the series–it was fun to do!
Thanks for your swatches. Those glosses are to die for.
Btw, I would not call Émoi a warm red, it’s a raspberry shade with a purple/blue touch. As a warm colour I could probably not pull it off
have I mentioned that I love them already?
Lovely–thank you Mia I’ve corrected the post now. And also based on your description realized that I need Émoi too–I love berry reds.
I can already see these will sell like hot cakes! I liked all the colours you picked up.
