Chanel’s Spring 2011 collection includes Rouge Coco Lipstick in Jersey Rose ($30/ #77), made in the lovely, moisturizing formula in elegant metal casing.
Like Chanel Rouge Coco Mademoiselle, Jersey Rose is a bit of a chameleon. It seems to switch from predominantly pink to predominately peach with a shift in the light, or the coloring of the wearer.
My lighting sources of taking pictures is quite stable, but the pigment in Jersey Rose is a bit of a shape-shifter. Here the bullet looks comparatively warm, bordering on peach.
Jersey Rose is a light warm pink in the tube, which seems to pull nearly peach on my warm skin tone. You can see some swatches, here, which compare Jersey Rose to other Chanel Rouge formulations in Magnolia, Gardenia and Camelia:
You can see that Jersey Rose applies the warmest of this group of medium pinks. Jersey Rose seems to be a softer cousin to the peach-pink Lancome Chris and Tell. Here is a comparison with Chanel Rouge Coco Peregrina (#78) and Lancome’s Chris and Tell:
Here are some pictures on Liz, who has naturally pink pigmentation in her lips and a warm, light skin tone (MAC NC15/20 Chanel Intensity 1.0 Ivoire/Cameo):
Another in slightly different light, which seems even more peach in this picture:
Overall, Chanel Rouge Coco Jersey Rose is a beautiful warm color that will look lovely for spring. It should coordinate beautifully with the deeper greens and grays that are in the other Chanel 2011 products.
