In February of this year, Cafe Makeup featured a picture of a unique, pearl-textured face color product called Chanel Ombres Tisseés Iridescent Effects Eyes in Beiges ($75), featured in one of most breathtaking couture shows of the year. The Ombres Tissees has now released for sale on Chanel.com as part of a small collection called Les Aquarelles.

When first opened, Chanel Ombres Tisseés reveals a layer of transparent fairy sparkle that looks like a clear frost of diamonds. The texture resembles the woven tweed that graces so many of Chanel’s couture designs.
The packaging puts the total weight at .046 oz./ 13 gr., which is quite generous for a product that is intended for use on the eyes. Of course, I couldn’t help adding it to my upper cheeks and above my brow as an all-over highlighter.

The top row is beige, the center a gold and the bottom a soft pink.

I want to make this one my screensaver….

The diamond effect brushes away with a very soft brush, almost in tiny pieces. The over-spray is more dramatic in real life-it covers the entire pan.
Once I removed all of the overspray, I swatched each shade separately and then mixed:
Another:

As you can imagine, the light tones of these gives a very subtle effect on the eyes.

More runway:

Some suggestions:
- Keep the entire eye light toned, as it was on the runway.
- Add a touch of gray to add some depth (Chanel’s Gris Exquise might be a nice choice) (review forthcoming)
- Use the powder on the upper cheek as a highlighter
Chanel Ombres Tissees is a niche luxury product. The effect is soft and light, with not a hint of metallics. The price point is high, but its uniqueness and presentation will appeal to many. Personally, I’m glad that I picked one up (but as you know, I’m true Chanel fan).

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
This would look absolutely gorgeous as a cheek highlighter, but it would also be nice all over the lid with a brown color in the crease, which would be perfect for an everyday neutral look. It would also look great under the brow as a highlight.
13 grams is alot of product. I’m pretty sure you won’t run out anytime soon. =)
I was waiting for your review. It’s so beautiful. Of course, I will buy it! And will you make a review about pink cloud?
I will, but not until early next week. I’m very busy for the remainder of this one. Thank you!
Lovely pictures Amy! I was a bit taken aback by the initial glitter but love the look and effect of this without the overspray. Have you seen the facechart posted on Chanel.com under this collection? The recommendation is exactly like you said: mixing the Ombres Tissees with the Gris Equis on the eyes. I’ve started paying attention to the facecharts they have these days, also found a great one for the Prelude quad.
This is one of the prettiest palette I have in my collection =)
Great photos!!
I do not know if I need yet another highlighter, but how does this compare to the Poudre Lumiere Perlee released at Nordstrom?
Can’t wait to see the review of Pink Cloud and Gris Exquise!
The Ombre Tissees is more opaque–the three tones really are a powder to be used a eyeshadow. Applied sheerly, this resembles the Poudre Douce. The Lumiere Pearl is far more sheer and transparent, more of a traditional highlighter.
Can’t wait to buy it in Europe! In the meantime, how about picture of Liz wearing this beautiful product?
This is beautiful. Do you know if it will be released in Europe?
Great pictures, so excited to get mine. I ordered this and the gris single eyeshadow… had them sent overnight, just can’t wait! Although, now I’m sort of dying for the vanites quad and trying to talk myself out of Pink Cloud… *sigh* darn it Chanel. It’s all just too much good stuff

This palette looks so beautiful.
Wow!! It is stunning.
Totally gorgeous! Really nice to see the mix of hues in one pan. I prefer something in the beige tone on the lid, particularly for day. the ombre tones add a subtle depth. Thanks!
Gorgeous, if fairies exist I imagine their makeup would look like this
on a different note: Amy are there any periwinkle and/or
lavendar eyeshadow shades that you recommend
for medium beige complexions? I have a party coming up
and I’m planning to wear a periwinkle sari that has silver bead work
on it. Thanks so much!!
Hi Huma,
Chanel makes a really pretty shade called Lavande. It’s beautiful.
Thanks Amy, I’m excited to look into it, I just bought a ton of makeup but who can resist Chanel?
