1.  First, Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 featured an enormous white carousel populated with white horses, pastel-clothed models with sparkling tiaras.  This literally looks like a carousel from a childhood dream.  It’s so lovely to see this vision.

The show is here on Youtube.

Plus the shimmery pearl Attraction:

3. Third, Vince sweaters.  Now that Fall is arriving, I’m feeling the need to be cozy.  Vince’s are soft, well made and have a very clean, flattering design.  Love.

  1. Oh if I had the money for Vince sweaters I think that would very well be the only brand of sweaters/coats I’d own!

  2. With the models’ blank expression and the whole scene nearly devoid of color, there’s something vaguely spooky about the carousel scene. I think I will buy April; it’s so lush.

  3. Hmmm . . . White setting and whimsical props, models wearing pastels, subdued cheeks and lips. Didn’t we just see this at Chanel? Both design houses did their own take on the theme, and a trend is called a trend for a reason, but still . . .

As for those Vince sweaters, aren’t they cuddly looking? We turned the heat on for the first time last night, so I guess I’d better go through my sweaters and make sure they’re ready for cooler weather.

  4. YES to all three! You have fabulous taste.

  5. Ditto on the Vince sweaters! I discovered them last season and bought a couple. Bought about 3 this year at Nordstrom’s anniversary sale. So comfortable – like a nice big hug, especially with a Vince tank underneath.

  6. Lovely at Louis Vuitton. They’ve been putting out beautiful collections lately.

By the way, do you know when you will get the Rouge Allure Velvets in America? We’ve had them in Europe for about a month now, but I would love to hear your opinion and see your swatches before buying.

    • I’ve heard they will become available over the next month Sandra! So lucky for those who live in countries where they are already released!

      • Yes, I am very excited about them. More than I have been with the Fall 2011 collection which was very nice too.

The colours are beautiful and very classy, and the texture is fantastic. On me they do not have that dry and rough look as other mattes can have, but with a slight sheen instead that makes it look more polished. They are very understated considered the bold colour selection. And I love a small launch with few classic items instead of massive collections with a bunch of stuff – I get so confused and won’t know what to get!

I hope Chanel will send you some to review without charge. I can not even imagine how costly having a high-end beauty blog must be, but the info is so helpful for all of us.

  7. Hi Amy,

do you know what’s the name of those 3 chanel new polishes? and I wonder will the beige color from this spring collection will be similar to innatendu? thanks 🙂

    • They are April, May and June–those aren’t the release dates. Those are the actual names of the nail polish colors. The beige looks peachier to me than Innantendu…

  8. Love the make up, do you know who did the make up or what products they used?

    • Pat McGrath is said to have done the makeup. I’ve tried to contact her via twitter to find out, if I do I’ll post the information.

  9. Yay! The oversized sweater fad is back. My backside and belly pooch are very happy for this. LOL
