Chanel Joues Contraste in Malice, Tumulte and Pink Explosion Looks

March 25, 2012

As promised, here are some very quick pictures that Liz and I took this afternoon wearing the new Chanel Joues Contraste Blushes in Malice, Tumulte and Pink Explosion (old and new).  I hope you find these useful–enjoy! Over the past few days, I’ve been wearing (and loving) these new powder blushes. I find them gorgeous, wearable colors that can be worn year-round. I’m so pleased with this formula!

Here is Chanel Malice (originally reviewed here), a peachy rose color:

Here is the very light pink Chanel Joues Contraste Tumulte (originally reviewed here):

The new Chanel Joues Contraste in Pink Explosion, with its deeper cherry tone (originally reviewed here):

And for comparison, the former Chanel Pink Explosion that was originally released in Fall 2010 (reviewed here and here). You can see that the former version is slightly lighter, less cherry-toned, and has a bit more frost/shimmer:

I have the Old Pink Explosion. Do you think that the New Pink Explosion is different enough to have both? Please let me know. Thanks

Probably not Nancy, unless you are pink blush obsessed like me. :)

Would you be able to do a comparison of Malice and Espiegle? Are they similar at all? Thanks!

Malice is deeper in tone, but more rose. Espiegle is lighter and more peachy. Thanks for your question!

I just got Tumulte tonight! I can’t wait to try it :). I originally went to get Pink Explosion but didn’t like the type of shimmer in it, Tumulte was much more my style!

Thanks, what a lovely comparison! Very useful, too. I’m very pale and cool-toned, so I normally avoid peachy blushes, but lately I’ve sneaked a bit of the peachy peach from my Eclosion on my cheeks. I love that palette, and the end result is surprisingly fresh and modern.

I love your Chanel reviews. You do them like nobody else. They should definitely hire you – I’ve spent $$$ on Chanel and that’s all your fault. (Nars Gaiety is on my list as well.)

Hi Amy – first time commenter, long time reader. :) Can you compare Malice to Rose Petale? Are they different enought to own both? Thanks!
