May 022012

For Spring 2012, Chanel released an Asia-exculsive collection, Le Blanc de Chanel (previewed here at Rouge Deluxe). Through the kindness of a fellow beauty lover, I was able to obtain the Fleur de Lotus Joues Contraste Blush (#69). My hope is that this might be picked by a U.S. source and released in this country (and elsewhere in the world).

Because of its current limited availability, this review will be short. Essentially, Fleur de Lotus can be summed up in a single word:  Spectacular. This is a finely-milled, brightening coral that adds a beautiful glow. Yes, it is the baked formula, but we’ve talked about this before. I found that the overall texture of Fleur de Lotus was sufficiently soft, a standard blush brush was fine (I found it similar to Rose Tourbillon in texture).

Here are swatch comparisons with Chanel Malice (which is more pink) and Chanel Espiegle (which is more peach):

I found that the closest that I had in my stash is MAC Hipness, swatched on the far right for comparison.

Obviously, the Joues Contraste formula sets Fleur de Lotus apart.

Maybe if we all contact our favorite department stores (do you hear me Nordstrom?? Neimans? Saks? hellooooo?), and we all do lots of good deeds for others we can all get our hands on one. I’d certainly get another. This thing’s gorgeous.

  1. no. words.

what an absolutely stunning blush. hope this will be released in the states! =(

  2. What a beauty! It looks a little like LMdB “Echo” on my monitor. Do you know if it’s similar?

    • Hi Ava, I don’t have Echo but based on Karlasugar’s swatches I would say, “yes”–it’s in the same color family. A bit like the Rouge G blush from last year’s Guerlain Spring collection as well–that coral, almost fruit punch wash of beauty.

  3. Of course we will be able to get it here. Remember last year? There were new, exclusive CHANEL collections at every turn. So it will be with this. God loves us.

  4. I loved MAC Hipness, so I hope I can get my hands on this beauty.

  5. Wow! I just can’t get enough of colors like this. This blusher is even more beautiful than I had anticipated based on the promo picture I had seen. Oh Chanel! Oh Nordstrom! Please bring us the Fleur de Lotus collection. You’d make so many of us happy 🙂

  6. I have this blush! It is indeed very flattering for Asian skin.

  7. I love it! I hope it’s released in the Sates!

  8. I can’t get enough of coral blushers, this one is stunning! On another note, I picked up Pink Explosion and I love it!!

  9. I personally prefer baked blushes more. The color pay off is always better, very pigmented and fine in texture. In the swatch I think the color looks more peachy than on the package.

  10. You got it!!! Congrats Amy! I’ve been wearing Fleur de Lotus almost everyday for the last 6 weeks…my other blushes are getting jealous.

  11. Hi, There might be a chance that this blush sells in Europe? Like France maybe??? Any idea? Thanks.

    • Hi Virginie–I’m sorry I don’t know. You might keep your eye on the big department stores for “limited time exclusives.” That’s what Nordstrom is doing here–they’ve negotiated a special deal to carry the collection in the U.S. I believe that Nordstrom ships internationally (it isn’t cheap), also I saw the blush appear on Izzy’s . Another international retailer is Strawberrynet. Sometimes the Chanel Studio at Harvey Nichols/London will carry all Chanel international products if you ever get over there.
