Chanel Rouge Allure in Coromondel ($34) is a beautiful red with a slight shimmery pearl texture. Long-time Chanel lovers may recall that Chanel released a nail polish with the same name a few years back. Now the name is back, in a slightly different red, in a highly pigmented, highly moisturizing lipstick formula. Like Dior Ara Red, Chanel Coromandel is unapologetic, bold, and gorgeous. Swatches with the other Chanel Rouge Allure Intense lipsticks that I currently have:
Here is Liz wearing Chanel Coromandel along with the Nars Andy Warhol Flowers 1 palette on her eyes and Nars Andy Warhol Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Silver Factor as a messy below-the-eye eyeliner. She’s also wearing Chanel Tweed Fucshia blush.
As you can see, Chanel Coromandel leans a touch warm (although not as warm as Chanel Incandescente). Close up:
Bottom line: So far, so good. These seem more pigmented and intense to me than the former Rouge Allure line. Also, they feel more moisturizing. I’m looking forward to exploring some of the cooler-toned and neutral shades. Chanel Coromandel is an awesome color for a bold, confident and glamourous look.
Disclosure: Nars sent the Nars/Andy Warhol Flowers 1 Palette and Nars Soft Touch Shadow Pencil Silver Factory without charge for consideration for review.
