Dior

Dior Las Vegas (phone: 702-734-1102) is receiving the Dior Pink Champagne collection in mid-February. This includes the Diorskin Nude Shimmer Compact (reviewed here by Mostly Sunny), two nail vernis polishes in the colors Golden Era and Tutu, as well as a twinset in Beige Ribbon (according to the store, a wonderful lid base color for other shadows). The collection will also include a Dior Lip Maximizer in a sparkle pink shade ($31, not pictured).  The store is taking orders as of now.

Nars Release

Nars is releasing some pretty gifts for the mid-winter season.  First, Nars 413 Blkr Multiple ($39) is a burgundy shade that echos the brick outside the New York City Bleecker street store, as well as the colors in the other Nars 413 Blkr Street line. This will be sold at the two Nars flagship stores–New York and Los Angeles–as well as on Nars Cosmetics.com starting February 1st.

NARS Bleecker Street1Nars is also introducing a lovely eye set  And God Created Woman (pictured above). This one looks drool-worthy, as it includes some of the nicest and richest shades collected from Nars duos and singles over the past several years. Seriously, the gold from Kalahari in the same palette as Galapogas? Sign me up.

For $59, the set includes a travel size primer and the No. 3 Eye Shader Brush. Available February 1st on Nars Cosmetics.com and it’s already up for sale at Sephora.com.

Hourglass

I’ve been terribly excited for these new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, just releasing now on Sephora.com. I was fortunate enough to be sent Luminous which I’m currently test-driving (review due soon). I’m hoping to pick up a few more of these as I’ve been impressed so far.

  1. Oh wow–Luminous Light is much lighter than I thought it would be. But I guess they all are–I was sent Radiant Light and it seems really light in the compact but on the cheeks its beautiful! Can’t wait to see your review and swatches!! :D

  2. Thanks for the link love, doll! I’m glad to see Tutu will be available, since I had some North American readers telling me it didn’t make its way there with the rest of the spring collection! I’m also drooling all over Golden Era! Really psyched about the Hourglass powders too!

  3. Hi Amy,

Wow, I certainly have my eye on that new Dior collection!
Recently, a new Chanel collection has been released in Europe, to introduce the new Volume de Chanel mascara (this mascara was not released in Europe yet). The collection is called Jeux des Regards. Two new quads, Fascination & Seduction (LE) and two new Illusion d’Ombre shades, in Convoitise (LE) & Apparition (the same one from the very limited Blue Illusion collection!). Maybe these will be introduced in the US at a later date? Pictures can be found on the Dutch beautyblog, Beautyscene: http://www.beautyscene.nl/p/143880/chanel_jeux_de_regards_&_le_volume_de_chanel

  4. The shade of the Dior nail Polishes look amazing! xxx

  5. Do you know if the Dior collection will be available on the Dior website?

    • I do not know for sure, I’m sorry. They usually do put up special collections, but I’m not in contact with Dior so I don’t have any information on that.

  6. That NARS multiple looks fabulous! I can’t wait to see swatches.

  7. that NARS kit is such a good value!!

  8. I am so interested in the new Multiple (and a name I could say to my grandmother without blushing!).

I am really interested in the new Tom Ford Lip Shines.

It would be great if the new year would bring us not just new products, but some of the rarer lines to more doors. It would be wonderful to see Edward Bess, D & G, Tom Ford, and Burberry in person.

    • I’d love to see Tom Ford sold everywhere! :) I believe Sephora has now started carrying D&G, I’m hoping that they push it out to some stores beyond NYC but I have no idea whether they will.

  9. I purchased two of the Ambient Lighting powders (Diffused & Mood) – I just posted swatches of them, though I don’t have a final verdict on them yet (I think I love Mood Lighting though!). I’m really excited to read more reviews of them (and see if other people are able to do a better job than I did photographing swatches, too!).

  10. I saw D&G in two NYC Sephora stores I visited earlier this month: Time Square and the Meatpacking District. They also had Armani cosmetics.

  11. Yes, I agree that the Nars eye kit is definitely drool-worthy! I going to check it out in-store this weekend.

However, Nars disappointed me with their Light Reflecting powder. The powder is supposed to be invisible, but I find it gives me a ‘white cast’ look. I’m of southeast Asian origin and my skin tone is very warm/golden (NC25, Shu 964, Nars Alaska, YSL #2 Sand) so that may be the problem. I think the powder is best suited to those with very light skin tone.

I’m trying my luck with this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder collection instead. I’m getting the Diffused one–basing this decision on the color best matched to my skin undertone rather than the ‘advertised’ effect. I can’t wait to try it out!

  12. I’m really interested to hear your verdict on the Hourglass powder – I’m maybe leaning toward Ethereal due to my ghostly white complexion, but I’m curious to hear how all of them perform. I want to make sure it’s worth the $45 before I buy it ;)
