One of my favorite French brands, L’Occitane, recently released its Immortelle Precious BB Cream SPF30 in three shades–Fair, Light and Medium ($45) each. These are currently available at L’Occitane.
I love this time of year, because it brings so many opportunities to get together with friends, family, and the rest of the community. Sometimes this does require a little gifting, including Mother’s Day, end of the year teacher appreciation gifts, thanks for friends who have gone above and beyond, and others. Thankfully, L’Occitane has got us covered. The lines full page of gift ideas are here.
This little L’Occibox for Spring 2015 was sent to Cafe Makeup, and has a range of little delights inside, including:
o 1 Jasmin & Bergamote Eau de Toilette, 0.04 fl.oz
o 1 Immortelle Precious Serum, 0.23 fl.oz
o 1 Immortelle Brightening Essence Sample, 0.03 fl.oz
o 1 Shea Butter Hand Cream, 10ml 0.3 .oz
o 1 Shea Whipped Hand Cream, 30ml 1 .oz
o 1 Bonne Mere Rose Soap, 3.5 .oz
o 1 cube of Sugarfina Champagne Bears®
Who wouldn’t love this little box of treats? (use code SUGAR at checkout to get this $48 box for $20)(also, see this link to buy online).
L’Occitane also sent along some of the Iris Bleu and Iris Blanc items from L’Occitane’s La Collection de Grasse. The series brings together two ingredients – one from the small, Provençal town of Grasse (hence, the collection name) and one from another distant land. This line is made of “an exclusive blend of blue iris floral water extract from Grasse mingles with white iris extract from the Mediterranean; a fresh, velvety union of clean linens and sophisticated blooms.” It’s beautiful.
L’Occitane has put together an Iris Bleu and Iris Blanc set ($78) with:
– Iris Bleu & Blanc Eau de Toilette 2.5 fl.oz
– Iris Bleu & Blanc Shower Gel 8.4 fl.oz
– Iris Bleu & Blanc Body Milk 1.7 fl. oz.
This series includes the Iris Blue & Iris Blank Eau de Toilette (which sells separately for $78/ 2.8 oz.). This scent is in a gorgeous, a heavy blue-mauve tinted glass bottle, gold spray top and ornate gold iris print on one side of the bottle.
L’Occitane did a seriously lovely design with this bottle. And the scent–divine! If you need a gift (or a pick-me-up for yourself), these items are highly recommended. There are additional gift ideas here and the L’OcciBox link is here (use code SUGAR for the $20 discounted price).

This L’Occitane Immortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Skin Program ($130) is set to release this week on February 19th. I’ve been fortunate to try out the full program over the past month. Here’s my report, and a chance to win a set of your own. As with the other L’Occitane Immortelle Divine products, this set is based on the immortelle flower from the island of Corsica, which is know for its extraordinary longevity. The line distilled its active ingredients into an essential oil that forms the foundation of this skincare set.
Week 1 – Gentle exfoliation to even skin-tone, make it smoother and more luminous
Week 2 – Hydration & Nutrition: The skin seems nourished and moisturized
Week 3 – Balance: to strengthen and ready the skin for the final week
Week 4 – Renewal: For radiance, rebalance, and smoother texture
I used one vial per day, working my way through each week’s benefits before moving forward to the next. Formulas are held in easy-to-use, daily, single-use doses. I applied each vial, allowed it to soak in for a few minutes. Each “week” has a slightly different scent, and all smelled heavenly to me. I love the natural beauty of L’Occitane products–they add a touch of luxury and remind me of the beauty of the French countryside.
Because these vials are in a lightweight plastic pod, I was able to break off the right number, and place them into my bag for travel to a West Coast conference during the middle of my treatment regime. So convenient!
Each of the little oil vials is marked with the appropriate week (can you see the little “1’s”?) so even though I was traveling and moving into my new addition, I could keep track of my progress. The first week’s exfoliating regime felt wonderful. The oils really do melt into the skin, and feel very luxurious. However, I could tell that they had an exfoliating effect when I examined my skin first thing in the morning. Also, I was able to continue to use my other skin care products over these little serums, and still got all of the benefits of the L’Occitane regime.
The second week’s regime was very rich and moisturizing. It’s perfect if you have drier skin, or would like a little mid-winter boost, these are amazing. They felt especially good after the exfoliation from the week before, like they are rebuilding the skin in all the right ways. I can absolutely see why these are sold as an integrated system.
The third week–for balance–feels very calming. It gave me beautiful, smooth, glowing skin every morning. I’m really enjoying the nightly ritual and lovely scent of this set. It’s easy to use, you just break off the one you want, fold down the top until the top is broken, and squeeze the liquid out. For me, I found enough in each vial to do the face, neck, and hands.
Having gone through the entire cycle of the set, my skin looks firmer, smoother, more even-toned, and more youthful. I really like the result, especially as this time of year I start looking for ways to renew my skin for the coming spring. This elegantly formulated box of solutions was perfect. L’Occitane has has beautifully refreshing L’Occitane Frisson Verbena collection released this summer, which I’ve been enjoying since taking these pictures a week ago. Actually, some of these have been true saviors in this humid August heat.
Among all the aromatic herbs that grow along the paths of Provence, there is one whose lemony freshness revives the body and mind. Its name is Verbena. When baskets are piled high with freshly harvested green verbena leaves, its distinctive fragrance fills the air around the markets of Provence. Discover our collection which includes fragrances as well as body and hair care.
The Frisson Verbena Eau de Toilette ($55/3.4 oz.) is a very light, soft, yet vibrant lemon and herb scent. The notes include lemon, bergamot, verbena and cucumber. It’s both sophisticated and light, it elevates my mood and reminds me of an afternoon in the beautiful French countryside. It’s more green than lemon, in a lovely way. The heavy glass bottle is a pleasure to use (or to gift).
This is a light refreshing spray format, appropriate for putting into the refrigerator overnight for a cooling blast when needed. I found this soft scent lasted a good five or six hours on me.
The Frisson Verbena Eau de Toilette comes packaged in a giftable box that is appropriate for either gender.
The Frisson Verbena Hand Cream ($12/ 1 oz.) is a light, gel-textured moisturizer that’s heaven to use for a summer manicure/pedicure. It’s mixed with spring water for a light, but very effective, feel. It’s fabulous to put on mid-afternoon, the scent is subtle and very refreshing.
The Frisson Verbena Fresh Shower Gel ($20/ 8.4 oz) is, in keeping with the rest of the aesthetic of this line, softly scented. The feel is similar to other L’Occitane shower gels, it gives only slight foam and feels excellent on the skin. The scent does not linger long after use, so you can apply any of your other scents without interference.
Like the other products in this line, it is appropriate for either gender. The bottle is a squeeze type which allows the product to flow out easily if held upside down. The size is a generous 8.4 ounces.
If you are in the mood for a lovely treat, I highly recommend the Frisson Verbena Ice Gel for Legs and Feet ($22/2.5 oz.). This cooling gel applies with a metal application and feels amazing.
The ice gel uses the same scent as the other products in the collection, although its a slight bit more intense in this formula (compared to the hand cream and shower gel). The applicator:
This product uses a combination of cypress essential oil and althea officials. It leaves arms, legs and feet with fresh, cooling moisture. Essentially, it makes your skin look better, has an beautiful fresh scent, and cools you down. Win, win, win. It would be nice if this item were made permanent.
This collection is well worth a look. The Eau de Toilette and the Ice Gel were my favorites. Here are some online offers from L’Occitane if you prefer to have anything delivered.

L’Occitane’s Angelica line is, well, angelic in my book. Lately, I’ve been testing L’Occitane Angelica Hydra Vita Gel ($38/1.7 oz.). This particular product fills a serious need in the beauty world–a beautiful, fresh, gel moisturizer that is perfectly appropriate for all skin types, but particularly useful for combination and oily skin. This moisturizer is so refreshing and cooling, it’s perfect for summer mornings and evenings. It feels delicious.
I just spent two weeks in the dry, hot mountain air of Colorado. I used to believe that my “glow in the afternoon” skin didn’t need any moisturizer, until enough people told me that my skin looked dehydrated. After using some serums and moisturizers for a few weeks, I realized how much better my skin looks with some light refreshing moisture. Although I love my creams, in the warm summer months a light gel give the perfect amount of moisture.
L’Occitane Angelica Hydra Gel felt amazing to start off my day, and after a long day in that very dry climate (made even worse by the hotel air conditioning). This gel feels naturally cool, and has a very soft light scent that evokes light cucumber and lovely herbs. This gel is from L’Occitane’s Angelica line, which has natural hydrating and revitalizing properties. Unlike some cool gels, Angelica Hydra Gel has no sting of alcohol or harshness of any kind. Rather, it plumps the texture of my skin and felt very soothing, even on irritated skin (don’t ask, but I’ve never gotten off a flight without some problem or other!). It feels lovely on neck, shoulders and arms as well.
L’Occitane Angelica Hydra Gel comes in a generously-sized pot, sealed for freshness, and is a real treat. I wouldn’t want to go through the summer months without it. Bottom line, highly recommended.
The L’Occintane Angelica Hydra Gel is available on L’Occintane.com. There are some additional L’Occitane online offers on right now as well using these links and codes:
