Tatcha One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil ($48/ 5.1 ounce) is a rich, comforting and effective cleaner. This feels so luxurious. This oil is clear, and comes in an elegantly packaged container with a pump top.

Tatcha skincare10 copy 1aNow that we are heading into the cold winter, Tatcha’s Ageless Enriching Renewal Cream ($185/ 1 oz.) is a beautiful evening moisturizer. This is formulated with a number of premium ingredients with deep anti-aging benefits and promotes microcirculation to reduce age spots and renew appearance.

Tatcha skincare28 copyThe cream is designed “nourishes and purifies skin, resulting in a decreased appearance of puffiness under eyes, dark circles, sunken eyes and eye spots” It feels wonderful, I love the way my eyes look using this.

Tatcha skincare30 copyI’ve had the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist ($48/1.35 ounce) on my desk for months. I love how refreshing a mid-day spritz feels (and re-hydrates). If you live an an area with drying winter heat, using this is a real treat.

Tatcha skincare14 copy

I love the little spritzer–it puts out just the right amount, and it looks so elegant.

Tatcha skincare15 copyThe last item that you might wish to try are the Tatcha Polished Classic Enzyme Powder ($55 / 2.1 oz.).

Tatcha 01aTatcha is an elegant skincare line that does a superb job with everything that I’ve tried. Without exception. They use simple, powerful formulations that are designed to integrate beautifully into one’s life. This philosophy relies on time-tested ingredients, sophisticated science, and the power of natural ingredients derived from the East. The new Tatcha Water Collection is a wonderful addition that is consistent with this intent of the line.

Tatcha 02a

The mainstay of Tatcha’s new Water Collection is the Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum ($95/1.0 oz). For me, this serum performed several tasks–it was a lovely moisturizing serum that dried down immediately that was virtually weightless on my skin. Somehow, the product acted as a beautiful makeup base, giving me a lovely, even texture on my skin. In part, this was because (after a minute or two) my skin looked glowing and smooth. The other was because the texture of the product–which is featherweight–provided a wonderful base that seemed to allow my foundation to glide on and stay all day.

Tatcha 0a4

As always, Tacha’s packaging is a luxurious joy  to use. This pump bottle feels like glass, yet seemed to survive several runs in checked luggage unscathed. The serum is clear, and has a very subtle scent that fades quickly.

Tatcha 05a

One pump completely covered my face, although sometimes I used another for neck. Unlike a moisturizer, Tacha’s Luminous Deep Hydration serum is a true serum–the product is light and quickly absorbs. It uses a blend of Okinawa red algae and hyaluronic acid to soothe and firm my skin.  The effects are not immediate, as in “you look in the mirror, your face becomes transformed.” Rather, for me Tatcha’s Luminous serum is cumulative and perceptible over time. After about three days, my 5 pm glance in the mirror told me that my face looked more bright, smoother, and more firm and younger. The longer that I used it, the strong the effect became.

Although you might think that the serum is enough, you must, must, must try the Tatcha Luminous Deep Hydration Revitalizing Eye Mask ($12 for one/ $95 for 10). This is the very best eye mask that I’ve ever used., including those I’ve received from spas.

Tatcha 12

The mask comes in two parts, in a foil packet that infuses the clear liquid into the mask.

Tatcha 17The foil packet is travel friendly, but after the first time use I can see integrating this into a weekly home routine.

Tatcha 20

The masks simply sit around the eye area. I got lost in a writing project, and left them on for about twenty minutes. There is not a hint of harshness, rather there is a feeling of hydration and freshness.

Tatcha 22Afterwards, my eye area felt tightened, toned and hydrated in a “you look in the mirror, your face becomes transformed” kind of way. The effect lasted well into the next day, even a bit into a third day. Really, incredible. Must try, and with the $12 version sold separately, that is easy to do without making a large investment.

Tatcha 19

Overall, both Tacha items are a beautifully formulated, effective, and integrate beautifully into my current beauty routine. Truly some of the best, most thoughtful of the skincare collections.  These are available at Tacha online. Although the eye mask is currently sold out (sob!) , it should be re-stocked soon. Also, the line is carried at Barneys although these items do not appear to be stocked yet I am hopeful that they will be soon.

Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist01

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist ($48/ 1.35 oz.) is a moisturizing facial mist housed in an elegant spray container. Inspired by Japanese facial waters, the water includes plant extracts include red algae extracts and HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex which has anti-aging properties that the company claims is more potent than Vitamin C.

Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist02

Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Mist feels marvelous when my skin feels dry, tight, or irritated. It feels like a gentle rain of moisture that leaves nicely hydrated skin behind without any hint of oiliness or heaviness. It’s really nice if you are in a dry climate, have just come from a plane, or have to function in heated or air conditioned dry air.

Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist04

The packaging is lovely, Tatcha’s products are always so lovingly packaged.

Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist05

The bottle is a painted glass with a gold spray top that mists the product very delicately. Unlike some refreshing water sprays, the Tacha has no alcohol or irritating ingredients. It’s very gentle and healing.

Tatcha camillia lip balm01

Tatcha’s Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm ($36/ 0.28 oz.) (available here on Tatcha’s website and Barney’s New York) is a best-in-class, luxury lip balm. The texture is quite moisturizing, the presentation elegant and the ingredients are pure, beautiful and simple.

Tatcha camillia lip balm03a This little treasure comes with a nice touch. Once the understated box is opened, and the little drawer pulled out, you will see a letter that describes the product’s heritage on artisan paper.

Tatcha camillia lip balm12

The jar is a heavy glass with a plastic lid. Inside, you can see a thin sheet of 24 karat gold that lends a beautiful touch to the presentation.

Tatcha camillia lip balm07

Once opened, one dips in.  Go ahead. It’s an amazing product and meant to be enjoyed. The instructions read:

Scoop a small amount of the lip balm, tearing part of the gold leaf. Gently dab onto lips, allowing the gold to crush and create a subtle gleam.

 Tatcha camillia lip balm11

Once the gold sheet is broken, the gold mixes in with the product and essentially dissolves into the luxurious clear balm underneath.

Tatcha camillia lip balm13

The balm has a slight natural floral scent that has a touch of woodsy lemon. It’s gorgeous and fresh, very sophisticated.  It makes my lips feel really amazing–soft, moisturized. The balm has enough weight to last for a very long time.  It’s a lovely conditioner.

Bottom line–Tatcha Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm is an elegant treat. It’s large enough to last, and luxurious enough to use everyday (or evening for an overnight treatment). Love.

Camellia Oil Tacha1

This beautiful Tatcha Gold Camellia Beauty Oil ($125 /1.69 fl. oz.) (available here at Tatcha’s website and Barney’s New York). This is a highly moisturizing oil which has lovely moisturizing and anti-oxidant properties to restore the skin.  I love a good beauty oil. Despite the fact that my face is combination-oily, I’ve found that oils are some of the best moisturizers that I own.  They are surprisingly light and highly effective. When used overnight, they making my skin look beautifully alive. Tatcha’s Gold Camellia Beauty Oil sinks into the skin instantly, and if you apply just a bit gently plumps the skin cells to make skin look moisturized (but never oily).  It leaves the skin with a quiet, youthful glow.

tatcha camelia oil10

This product is one of those luxurious essentials that, once you start using it, make you wonder how you ever lived without it.  The bottle is a generously large size.  A tiny drop can be used to moisturize the entire face. Another few drops can be rubbed into your hands and then patted onto your hair to tame and restore. The oil is also designed to be used as an all-over body moisturizer.
