Chanel Accent Blush03

Chanel Joues Contraste Accent Blush ($43) is a new addition to the Chanel’s superior line of blushes. This U.S. purchased version is the beautiful pressed powder version with microsparkle that seems to disappear into the skin for a soft glow upon application.

I probably should have titled this post “first look,” because I’ve had scarce time to get to know this beauty as my schedule has been quite challenging lately. Nonetheless, I thought it best to post the information that I have so that it can be updated later on.

Chanel Accent Blush05

From all of my experience with the blush so far, Accent seems to be worthy successor to Chanel’s prior nude blush range (and, in some ways, for the former Orchid Rose as well). Although it looks like a brown, sparkling product in the pan, keep in mind that the magic of Chanel’s Joues Contraste range has always, always emerged after application. As you can see from the below swatches, Chanel Accent applies as a soft rose brown with a touch of mauve.

Chanel Accent Comparisons 3

Here is Chanel Accent on the far left, followed by Chanel Tempting Beige, Chanel Mocha, Chanel Rose Bronze, and Chanel Tweed Brun Rose.  As you can see from the swatch of the Chanel Bronzer Terre Ambre, a true bronzer in Chanel’s line, Chanel Accent applies as a neutral brush and not at all similar to this warm, amber-bronze.

Here is Chanel Accent on Liz, as you can see it applies as a soft rose neutral on her skin tone:

So far, Chanel Accent looks like a winner. I’ll update as we continue to work with the blush.
