Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense in Pirate ($34) is a cool deep jewel red in a luxurious formula. The entire line has been swatched here and several shades have been reviewed on Cafe Makeup. Unlike some of the warmer reds, such as Chanel Rouge Allure in Incandescente, Pirate has a slight blue undertone.
Chanel Rouge Allure in Pirate has a slight shimmer in the tube that does not seem to become visible on the lips. As with the other Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense shades, Pirate is intensely pigmented. You do not need more than one (or at most two) swipes to get full coverage. If you’d like less coverage, I suggest lightly dabbing it over a lip that is already prepped with a balm, and then spread the formula to even out the color.

As you can see, those with warmer tones can wear cool toned shades. However, such colors tend to be more dramatic on those with a touch of warmth. Cooler tones also tend to have a subtle teeth-whitening illusion.
